It's Time For.. the #Finishathon !

The FinishAThon is a readathon run by Tazmyn over at teabooksandtazmyn. Round One runs from 27th July - 2nd August.

Well, hello books I have not yet finished! I’m usually pretty good at reading one book at a time, but since everyone has been spending way more time at home, I’ve been reading way more and so have more unfinished books than usual! Cue taking part in this readathon…

Book One: Why I’m No Longer Talking To White People About Race, by Reni Eddo-Lodge.

This book shouldn’t even be on this TBR, because I should have finished it last month when I was reading it. But I struggle with all non-fiction, and just as I was getting to the end of this book I needed to read multiple non-fiction books back-to-back for training at work, and my brain got so exhausted at all the non-fiction reading that I needed a break from all non-fiction. But the majority of this book I’ve read so far is really excellent and eye-opening, and challenges me to think differently about perceptions that society encourages us to have. I’m hoping to read a chapter every other day to ease myself back in to reading non-fiction, and get this finished by the end of this round of the readathon!

Book Two: A Thousand Ships by Natalie Haynes

I got the first seven or eight chapters of this read before the end of the Reading Rush last week, and I’m really enjoying it so far! I know basically nothing about Greek mythology so this is all very educational. And hopefully will put me in good stead to get to Song of Achilles next week!

Book Three: Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo

I’m honestly not over Six of Crows yet. I was reading SoC a chapter a night and I’ve been trying to do the same with Crooked Kingdom but I’ve also challenged myself to get this rewrite of my WIP done and I tend to write until really late and then don’t have the energy to focus on my precious Dregs before bed. So I’m determined to just sit and read this and try not to let my feels explode. I’ve also been tagged by the wonderful Layla to do the Six of Crows tag which I’m two books short of finishing, so keep your eyes peeled for that soon!

Are you taking part in the Finishathon? What’s on your TBR?
